The extension on the southern façade is intended to clearly define the main entrance to the detached house while also creating a larger veranda. The new volume accommodates storage and a covered area for bicycle storace on the ground floor, while the veranda on the upper level connects directly to the home’s social spaces. An external staircase provides a direct link between the veranda and the garden.
On the western façade, a new volume replaces the former garage. This volume contains a new garage and storage spaces, as well as a new entrance and storage for the rental unit on the ground floor. Both extensions are designed with an emphasis on efficient layouts, practical functions and a holistic upgrade of the home’s outdoor areas.
