The starting point for this detached house was a site in Lade, Trondheim with steep terrain and open views towards the fjord. The house is designed as a contemporary new-build, carefully adapted to the terrain by organising its functions across a series of split levels that create dynamic spatial connections. The main living spaces are located on the upper level to fully take advantage of the views.
The terraces follow the natural levels of the site, allowing the house to connect seamlessly with the surrounding garden. The façade is articulated using a variety of materials to create variation and a warm, human scale, while the building volume shelters the outdoor areas and provides well-defined, private spaces for use throughout the year.
